Yay! (again)
I literally woke up just in time to find out that Noel Fielding is the guest host on Russell Brand and turn it on. lol. Woot. Go listen!

EDIT: Did I hear correctly? Are they doing Big Fat Quiz of the Year again? No words to express my joy if it turns out to be true!

Feeling: excited
Trax: well...uh, russell brand on radio 2

Inspired by [info]blinded_i_am's post yesterday, I decided to do a friending meme! This is me, being uncharacteristically socially adventurous. I thought it'd be quite excellent to have a few more people on my flist who are into the Boosh, but like I said, I'm socially unadventurous, but I'm trying to branch out. And what with the new series out in November, we can only welcome new Booshies (we hope!). So:

The Mighty Boosh Friending Meme!
Just copy and paste the info, fill it out so people can friend you, and you can friend them. Just get to friending you slags. And don't forget to pimp it, the more the merrier!

I go by many names but this one will do:
Age:
Hey, where ya from:
Favorite Boosh song:
Favorite episode:
What are you hoping for in the next series?
Other fandoms/interests:
Would you like a pie?
Anything else:

Went up to the city today. I met up with my dad for lunch and then walked down near the Embarcadero and sat in a small park for a little while kind of doing nothing. It was pretty fantastic actually, except for the wind that nearly knocked me over several times and went straight through my sweatshirt. Hung out at the bookstore a bit. I started reading the Golden Compass because people keep telling me to read it, so I did. I enjoyed what I've read so far. If I say why I was at the bookstore all day, I will be totally honest and say I was waiting for Russell Brand to show up. And he did in the afternoon. I saw him from across the street at my stakeout the bookstore because of his hair. Lol. So I wandered over to the museum where he'd be performing that night (I say museum, it was the shop part of the museum). And sure enough, there he was, talking to the people at the museum about where they were going to put chairs and such. I didn't want to bother him but Matt Morgan was looking around a bit and I felt really weird and jittery but I went up and told him how much I loved the radio show. He was really sweet, his hair was all pulled back in a ponytail that poofed out at the back. Then I went back to the bookstore. I did desperately want to jump speak to Russell but he was in important discussion. I figured I'd wait til the evening. Though I would have followed discreetly (or not so discreetly if it meant dinner, lol, in my dreams) but decided he would probably be preparing to dazzle us all later. EDIT: Now I am glad. Didn't want to end up in the documentary like that girl he picked up at the bar.

My mom came up to meet me after a while, we got some dinner in Chinatown and then walked over to the Beat Museum to hear Russell do what was advertised as "jazz comedy". It was, as to be expected, extremely funny, even though I don't think "jazz" comedy entered into the equation at all and it was him talking about their trip across America, some stuff he'd talked about on the radio already, but a lot of it new and very amusing. He read from On the Road and got a bit serious at some times, the way he does. And when he is only 5 feet away from you, you cannot help but notice just how bloody gorgeous he is. They filmed it I guess for the BBC and apparently it will be on in November. Should be nice and awkward for me, I was sitting in the second row and there couldn't have been more than 50 people there. EDIT 2: THANK GOD I was only in it for about 5 seconds. Woot!

I had forgotten how much I liked the first season of Teachers. I hope the other seasons are as good. And its probably because I watched Velvet Goldmine recently but two of the teachers are Kurt and Brian and that made me giggle. Simon would make an awesome English teacher if you already knew everything and learning was really just optional.

School starts on Monday. Finally! I'm really ready to go back actually. Taking scriptwriting, film production and Italian so they should be pretty interesting.

I should check my youtube bulletins more often
So, as usual, I seem to be coming in at the tail end of news. Youtube is supposedly deleting massive amounts of videos in September. How sad. I know its not the only place to go for videos (lol, MEGAVIDEO) but still, the massive amount of people on YT and just that odd sense of community and familiarity will be lost. Is there press on this subject? I realize I could search for it, but I was wondering if any vidders out there had already found any explanatory articles or anything. The link to download Cell Block Tango still works, so I think as long as whoever wants that video has it, that's cool, because out of 100 videos, that's the one I would really regret losing.

Anyway, its been an odd week.

Oh and if you didn't laugh when I mentioned Megavideo, please watch this:
Megavideo will cut you )

Why doesn't "Occulus Reparo" REALLY WORK?
Thanks a lot JK Rowling. I bet there's loads of little kids out there saying, "Hey, its ok. If my glasses break, its no big deal. I'll just reparo them back together." Well you CAN'T. And tape on glasses is still a bad look.

On the other hand, I can wear my contacts during the day. But I can't really afford new glasses or the newer prescription for my contacts so its still really annoying.

Today: Unplugged
They're turning off all the power here in about....20 minutes I guess. My landlord is having the circuit breaker updated or something like that. Idk, its all a bunch of technical stuff that I don't really know what it does except that it will put central air in the house and that's all I care about. My computer battery will only last about 2 hours and its probably going to take about 8 I guess he said, to have the power back up. And all I wanted to do was watch a movie today. Guess I'll have to settle for studying. If I come back with fic, know that I can just as easily procrastinate on paper as I can on the computer. lol.

Youtubery.
Yeah, what it says basically. I started an Hp vid for Liz for her birthday today. I didn't get very far. I'm sorry. I will try again tomorrow. i got sidetracked as at the moment I'm working on a Howard/Vince video. But that's not actually the point of this post, so I'll get on with it.

Omg how much do I miss Skins after watching this. I feel all proud because I got her hooked on this show and she made a lovely video of it that I ADORE.

And then there's Joseph Gordon-Levitt who is someone I already adore. I mean really. Subscribe to his Youtube page. Go post on his forum (but be nice to him!). Love him. =) Though I will say I miss his hair from The Lookout. He's so funny and such a talented actor. Ok I'll stop gushing, just enjoy the JGL.
